2D cohesive zone model
Still under development (?) - Last update: 2005 (C. Lequesne)
This element models the fracture of a material in case of monotone loading or fatigue. This element, which models an interface of the crack, is composed with 2 nodes and linked with a foundation which models the other interface.
Direction convention: when one follows the element in the way of the nodes 1 → 2, the body in contact with the CZMEL is on the left and the foundation is on the right.
This element uses the cohesive law of Xu and Needleman, and can be coupled with the fatigue computed with the Lemaitre and Chaboche law.
It can be use in case of plane stress state or plane strain state.
