RESSO

Spring distributed on a line

Description

This element consists in a spring distributed on a parabolic or straight line. It should be used with plane beam elements (KIRSH or MINDS) to simulate the behavior of soil from each side of these beam elements. The line is defined by 2 or 3 nodes. The springs are located on the left when travelling along the element in increasing node order.

These elements are particularly useful for the simulation of digging, along a slurry wall, sheet piling, …

The behavior of the spring, and therefore of the soil is defined by fictive law RESSO.

Element type: 63
Implemented by: F. Collin + J.P. Radu (1999)
