TRUSS

Description

Plane truss bar.

The element is rectilinear between 2 nodes (I,J). These nodes define the local axis 1; local axis 2 forms an orthonormal basis with local axis 1 and the axis perpendicular to the TRUSS plane.
The TRUSS element can only be used with law ELA-TR.

Element type: 7
Implemented by: I. Bertarini (1988)

Title (A5)
TITLE“TRUSS” in columns 1 to 5
Control data (3I5)
NELEM Number of elements
NDISLNumber of groups of distributed loads to define
INSIG0 if no initial stresses
1 if initial stresses
Distributed loads - Only if NDISL ≠ 0 (2I5, G10.0)
LCHAD Number of the distributed load (from 1 to NDISL)
KODED Index of direction of the distributed load:
= 1 load distributed along global axis x
= 2 load distributed along global axis y
= 3 load distributed along local axis 1
= 4 load distributed along local axis 2
DISFO Intensity of the distributed load
Initial stresses - Only if INSIG ≠ 0 (G10.0)
SIGOInitial stress $\sigma_0$ (along x axis)
Definition of the elements (I5, G10.0, I5/4I5)
LMATE Material
NLOADNumber of distributed loads applied
NODES(2) List of nodes
Loads applied to the element - if NLOAD ≠ 0 (14I5)
ICHAD(I)
I=1,NLOAD
Number of the distributed loads

Note: The distributed loads stay constant, they are not multiplied by FMULT.
