====== RESSO ====== Spring distributed on a line ===== Description ===== This element consists in a spring distributed on a parabolic or straight line. It should be used with plane beam elements (KIRSH or MINDS) to simulate the behavior of soil from each side of these beam elements. The line is defined by 2 or 3 nodes. The springs are located on the left when travelling along the element in increasing node order. \\ \\ These elements are particularly useful for the simulation of digging, along a slurry wall, sheet piling, ... \\ \\ The behavior of the spring, and therefore of the soil is defined by fictive law RESSO. \\ \\ Element type: 63 \\ Implemented by: F. Collin + J.P. Radu (1999)\\ ==== Files ==== Prepro: RESSOA.F \\ Lagamine: RESSOB.F ===== Input file ===== ^ TITLE (A5)^^ |TITLE |"RESSO" | ^Control data (2I5)^^ |NELEM |Number of elements | |INSIG| = 0 No calculation of initial pressure \\ = 1 Automatic calculation of initial pressure \\ :!: The calculation is valid for horizontal springs, the Y axis being directed towards the top, and is based on earth pressure coefficient at rest $K_0$, the volumic weight of the soil, and the position of a potential groundwater table, all these data being defined in law RESSO | ^Definition of the elements (2I5/3I5)^^ |NINTE|Number of integration points (2 or 3)| |LMATE |Material law | |NNODE(3) |List of nodes (2 or 3)| ===== Results ===== Effort in the spring
